In preparation for this upcoming weekend, our volunteers undertook a comprehensive survey of the river conditions in August 2026. Water levels across the country are very low, and a number of canals and rivers have been subject to restrictions and closures as a result.
We are going ahead with a one-day event on Saturday 12 September that will end at Wissington (Rushbanks Campsite). Those who booked for the original 2-day event have been automatically transferred.

ONGOING PLAN OF ACTION
Proceeds from our activities go towards our charitable aims of restoring and conserving the navigation. We will continue with ongoing efforts to reinstate navigability for year-round use and to revive the full two-day event for 2027.
We will also lobby the Environment Agency, as the Navigation Authority, to address these critical issues and demand more direct, immediate action on maintaining the right of navigation.
