The Granary

The GranaryThe Granary is a red brick Georgian building that was built in 1807 for the River Stour Navigation Company. This attractive, Grade II listed building was restored by the River Stour Trust in 1989. It is our registered office and primary location for our Sudbury Boat Trips and Tea Room. We are also delighted to offer the venue for private hire.

Opening hours: Viewing appointments can be arranged – please contact us. You can view the whole venue without an appointment when our Tea Room is open (see below).

Tea Room: Our riverside Tea Room supports the Sudbury boat operations from Easter until the end of October.

Craft storage: Land-based storage and floating moorings are offered at this venue.

Private Hire & Weddings: The venue can be privately hired for a variety of functions including meetings, seminars, naming ceremonies, weddings, etc.

Hire Payment Online: Once you have made a booking then you can pay hire balances online with a debit/credit card or PayPal account.

Classes at The Granary: The venue has welcomed a range of classes including Yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, Music, Dance and a Film Club. If you would like to attend classes held here then please contact the organiser directly. We are pleased to offer a discounted rate to those regularly hiring the venue for their sessions.
