Sudbury to the Sea – S2C

  • S2C SATURDAY REGISTRATION PROCESS (what you need to know and do before launching)
    • Saturday Registration Allocated Entry Time Slots – email sent to primary paddler
  • MAIN LOCATIONS (locations postcode and What3Words, times, toilets, food/drink, parking, checkpoints)
  • SHUTTLE BUS TIMETABLE (people only – not equipment, limited capacity)
    • Saturday afternoon – from Campsite for Sudbury drop off (e.g. for personal vehicle retrieval or onward travel)
    • Saturday evening – shuttle between Campsite and Nayland Anchor Inn
  • CAMPING – optional camping at this year’s finish point (details including location, pitch fees, etc)
    • Campers – Sunday morning 8am-10amish – Really Awesome Coffee on site (see menu)
  • RIVER STOUR PICTORIAL NAVIGATION GUIDE – please note known navigational updates as follows:
    • PITMIRE WEIR BY LAMARSH – DO NOT paddle through the old lock channel (under the wooden bridge) because the river is so low that underwater hazards will cause damage to craft. Instead follow the course of the river AROUND the island.
    • LOW WATER LEVEL – Usually low on the stretch after the Nayland Anchor, and possible additional stretches due to drought – meaning walking rather than paddling.REEDS – Single file stretches with lots of tight turns particularly between Bures Mill and Langham Flumes.

    • TREES – There could be some fallen trees impeding the route – proceed with caution.
    • LOCK PASSAGE – availability depending on drought conditions.
