In these uncertain times of the Covid-19 coronavirus, the River Stour Trust is having to make difficult decisions and think about how we can continue to operate in the future.
The future of the River Stour Trust depends to a great extent on when we can resume our operations. At all times the safety of our volunteers, members, staff and the general public using our facilities will always be our primary concern.
Our Boat and Tea Room operations, Granary bookings and events will not start at least until Government relax the current restrictions on social isolation, and even then we will assess whether it is safe to do so.
If we can run some of our activities by the late Summer/Autumn then, along with our reserves and Government support measures, we can survive into 2021. It will be difficult but possible.
Our members and supporters have supported us magnificently in the past, and we hope they will respond again to help us through this crisis, and ensure the Trust emerges stronger and better able to carry its aims forward. However we also appreciate that everyone’s finances will be under pressure as a result of the present situation.
