The attractive, Grade II listed premises which were built in 1807 for the River Stour Navigation Company include The Barratt Room, a first floor room that can accommodate up to 100 guests and is suitable for social events, wedding receptions, exhibitions, meetings and conferences. The illuminated roof timbers, natural finish, red brick walls and ash flooring of the Barratt Room combine to produce a charming atmosphere in this restored, historic building. The facilities include:

  • Licensed bar
  • Balcony overlooking the Gasworks Cut waterway
  • Floodlighting at night

The premises are licensed for music and dancing. Our bar manager will be happy to discuss orders for wine and champagne. You may create your own unique atmosphere by decorating the Barratt Room to enhance your celebration, and are free to choose your own florists, caterers, musicians, and so on. However, if required, we can recommend local traders. Our electric launch, Rosette, with its volunteer crew, may be hired to provide river trips for your guests.

A Tea Room is open during the summer months on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
